My name is Dave Hahn, I have been coaching throwers for over 10 years now. I started out as a young college grad. Actually, I started coaching officially even before I graduated, as I was asked to coach at the college level, while I was doing my student teaching. Having competed as an athlete since middle school, and achieving some success along the way (school records, All-American honors, etc), I knew all there was to know about working with athletes in the throwing events (shot, hammer, discus, weight throw), or so I thought…
It turns out that being a successful athlete, does not directly translate to being a good coach. I struggled to pay for expensive clinics and conferences to meet and network with throws coaches from all over the country. I was frustrated that there wasn’t really much good stuff out there to prepare for these events. I would show up for a three-day conference, “drink from the fire hose” of information presented, and then try to filter out the good information from the bad and incorporate what I understood into my training plans.
This went on for 3 years before the lightbulb came on and I felt like I really understood the events to the point where I could have in-depth technical discussions with my athletes, and really follow what was being said at various presentations I attended. I even began speaking at events, and leading clinics myself.
I felt like there had to be a more efficient way for new coaches, or even those who just want a refresher, can easily get up-to-speed, with the fundamental knowledge and principles that would allow them to effectively work with athletes right away, and also put them in a position where they can get much more value out of events that they attend, thus exponentially decreasing the amount of time it takes to accomplish the level of comfort and competencies needed to consistently produce good athletes.
This coaching efficacy creates a positive feedback loop that is beneficial for multiple reasons. First, the coach feels more successful, so s/he continues coaching longer. The increased knowledge level of the coach helps the athletes have a more positive experience in the sport, which keeps them around longer. Both of these factors increase the performance level of the throws overall. As the performance level increases, so does attention given to the shot put and discus throws by the media, head coach, school administration, etc. And we all know that the sport of track and field can benefit from more positive attention.
I thought there must be a book or video available to lay out the blueprint for what had taken my 3 years to realize. I searched everywhere, and while there is some good stuff available, I couldn’t find anything that successfully blended the theory and actual practice to the point where it could work consistently with real, non-scholarship athletes. This led to 6 years of research and a master’s degree in coaching.
Introducing The Throws Academy. This innovative program combines up-to-date coaching theory and practice, with modern technical skills and drills for the throwing events, presented in over 25 multimedia lessons. These lessons contain videos, pictures, pdf files, and even homework.
Yes, homework is an instrumental portion of this course that is lacking in other instructional materials for the throws. These assignments give you actionable items that help you to integrate and assimilate the information you are learning into your coaching much more quickly.
As you can see this really is the ultimate tutorial for shot put and discus coaches. Until now it has never been so easily available to learn at your own pace. Each lesson is broken down into manageable chunks designed to take between 20-50 minutes, so you can easily complete them on your own terms. (Even if you’re an experienced coach you’ll benefit immensely from the program because you’ll examine your own program and find areas for improvement.)
Just imagine being able to watch this program anytime, any place, almost anywhere…without the inconvenience of having to travel hours to a seminar or clinic!
Frankly, I’ve presented this information at seminars where coaches have paid up to $200 to attend. But I wanted to find a way to deliver it to more coaches more affordably and in a format that you can take at your own pace (instead trying to cram it all in at a seminar format) – I settled on this multi-media format as a perfect and convenient way to deliver this information (for you and me).
That’s why the entire program is only $97. (That’s a one-time payment for the complete program.)
Needless to say, this information is jam packed with the jealously guarded secrets to coaching shot put and discus throwers. Truth is, you’ll never find this in-depth information in any other program available at this price. But even with that said, just to sweeten the pot a bit I’m also going to offer you a special bonus to reward you for taking action immediately.
The video vault is a truly unique program that allows coaches to submit clips to be analyzed. Our Expert Throws Academy staff then analyze the clip, pointing out areas for improvement and post the analysis in a common area so that all members can review and learn.
When you order The Throws Academy today, you recieve 6 months of full access to the Video Vault, and are allowed to submit one clip per month for review. If you look at what others are charging for video analysis, you know that this is easily a $150 value, and the access to a library full of analysis clips is worth a whole lot more.
